Apply for an ACMA licence

Licensing a radiocommunications system in Australia through Open Spectrum is a simple 3 step process:

Step 1

Provide us with the information we need using the following forms. Please use one form for every variation in location, spectrum requirement or equipment specification. Let us know if you need assistance.

To edit the form fields, save the PDF file to disk and then open it with Adobe Reader or equivalent. A form can be saved at any time. Alternatively feel free to print the forms and complete them manually. Please send all completed forms to applications@openspec.com.au.

If your licence requirements involve a large number of systems, as an alternative to the forms you can provide a spreadsheet of the requirements if that is easier. Please ensure that all the information we require in the forms is provided.

Step 2

Upon receipt of your forms we will complete a frequency coordination study to assess spectrum availability for your radiocommunications system. If a suitable spectrum option is available, we will provide you with the proposed licensing details for your approval along with an estimate of total fees.

Step 3

Upon your approval of the proposed licensing details, we will issue a Frequency Assignment Certificate and commence the licensing process with the ACMA on your behalf. Once the ACMA receive payment of licence fees and charges, they will issue the licence(s) and we will notify you.

To speed up the licensing process, Open Spectrum may prepay the ACMA's licence fees & charges if they are not too great.
